A Writer's 21st Century Memoir.

Left Hand Side by Latasha Lee & The Blackties

Latasha Lee is a Texas-born singer-songwriter with a powerful voice reminiscent to the late Amy Winehouse. And her sound is a blend of Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Sam Cooke, Gladys Knight, Etta James and Otis Reddings.

In 2006 she was signed to Salih Williams’ production company, Carnival Beats, and immediately started songwriting with him to create the Latasha Lee sound. Her songs, “I Hear You Knockin,” “Gotta Be A Way” and “Get Away,” bring back the late Motown sound which she loves. In 2012 Latasha made it to the top 50 spot on the television show X-Factor and has since then took on a few modeling jobs and continued to record music.
