A Writer's 21st Century Memoir.

Can’t Make This Right by Jackie Young

Soul-pop, singer-songwriter, Jackie Young, manages to effortlessly balance deeply personal, raw emotion and lighter fare lyrics in her poignant-sounding pieces. And although her love of music drove her to pursue more formal training by established industry professionals, Young’s ability to produce her own beautifully written music led her to venture out on her own.

” I applied and was eventually accepted into Berklee College of Music’s Management program. Although I was honored, I decided to momentarily put schooling on hold so I could do this. Write, record, and release music of my own and hopefully, get people to join me in this crazy trek. ” -JackieYoungMusic.com

Young seeks inspiration from many genres such as pop, soul, and jazz, she cites Amy Winehouse, The Civil Wars, Allen Stone, and Parachute as some of her main influences. After the release her first single, “Can’t Make This Right,” Young was asked to open for national acts such as Teddy Geiger, This Century, and Night Riots. She has also performed at House of Blues, Chain Reaction, Molly Malones and the LA County Fair.

Her debut EP, Jackie Young, is expected to be out tomorrow, February, 25 2014.

Check out her song, “Get Away With It,” here.
