A Writer's 21st Century Memoir.

Litmus Test by Hejira

I’m actually upset that I didn’t find this video sooner. The song, Litmus Test, by the band, Hejira, which is made up of bassist, Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne, guitarist, Sam Beste, lead guitar, Alex Reeve and drummer, Alexis Nunezplays, is a beautifully constructed piece of music that gave me the chills—in a good way.

The video, “an experimental live performance in the ‘House of Dreams,’ a property in London, from Matthew Herbert’s New Charges,” only adds to the amazingly melody. It’s a one sweep shot of the band playing around a Victorian terraced house from garden to rooftop directed by Faith Millin.

The London-based band actually built a recording studio in a house until they transferred to Herbert’s studio in Kent to finish their debut record.

Check out Prayer Before Birth by Hejira.
